Georgetown Gateway Visitor Center

The Georgetown Trust's visitor center at the I-70 exit, with CDOT traffic monitors, local information, a gift shop, interpretive displays on the Georgetown-Silver Plume landmark district, restrooms, a picnic area and a dog walk.

The Georgetown Trust for Conservation and Preservation runs the Gateway Visitor Center at 1491 Argentine Street, just off I-70 at the Georgetown exit. It has real-time traffic information from CDOT monitors and access to the COtrip site, travel and local information, souvenirs and collectibles, and interpretive displays and films about the Georgetown-Silver Plume National Historic Landmark District. Outside there is a picnic area and a dog walk; overnight parking is not permitted.

The Trust’s page gives the gift shop and information center as 9 am to 5 pm daily and the restrooms as 6 am to 10 pm daily, and separately lists information services as 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, with hours that may be affected by federal holidays. The page carries no dated post; its notes on the I-70 Floyd Hill project (construction from July 2023, expected to finish in late 2028) are the newest thing on it, and the Town of Georgetown’s visitor page (https://www.townofgeorgetown.us/visitor.php) lists the center at the same address as the place to pick up the self-guided walking tour book. Facts from the Trust’s Gateway Visitor Center page, read 10 October 2026.
